Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman investor, speaker, consultant writer, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the company. Corcoran has participated in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second child of 10 in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence was her mother. She was an excellent homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran’s life. At times, the family relied upon free food delivery from a friendly local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with disrespect and disrespect, particularly after the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran entered high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a degree in English after not completing several classes in her first year of high school.
